Pattern Description: Mama Mya

Fabric Used: Girl Charlee KnitFix and Valentine Hearts from a destash group

Pattern Sizing: Grey to Red. Fits chest size 30 inches to 51 inches.

Options: Shirt, Tunic, and Dress; Short, Long, and 3/4 Sleeves; Cowl Neck

Size & Options Sewn: Green; Long Sleeve Dress and 3/4 Sleeve Tunic

Did it look like the cover photo? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? The directions are easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really like how quickly the dress and tunic came together.

Fabric Used: Knit for the Tunic and thin Knit for the dress

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I used a rolled hem on the dress instead of hemming it one inch. The one inch hem was a little short for my personal preference. I graded from Green to Yellow at the waist and then back to Green through the hips for the dress. on the tunic, I graded from Green to Yellow at the hips. I will probably make the 3/4 sleeve slightly longer next time.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I see a lot of Valentine’s Day Date Night outfits in the future. YES!

  1. I love the Mama Mya for a basic dress. It’s probably the most flattering a-line pattern I have in my stash…I don’t even feel the need to wear a belt, which is uncommon for me with this style. This looks fab on you! But I think I’ve already told you that a few times on all the posts in the sewing groups. 🙂

    • Thank you! I was afraid without the defined waist I’d look strange. However, Mama Mya is an excellent staple piece. Especially, coming from a girl who doesn’t wear dresses often!

  2. You’ve done a lot to the blog since I last stopped by! I love it! I also love the shirt tail hem on that heart top. All the makers make me want to make my own stuff too!
