{REVIEW} Strip Quilt Skirt

Have you seen the latest pattern from Rabbit Rabbit Creations? The greatest stash buster ever!!

All you need to rock this skirt is 5 “strips” of fabric remnants. The tutorial is super easy to follow and great for a beginner pattern. The trickiest element was the elastic waistband and stitch in the ditch.

What you need to know:

The Strip Quilt Skirt has a gentle A-line shape, a flat fronted waistband with an easy elasticized back waistband and a knee length finish. It features 5 “strip quilt” pieces that allow you to entirely personalize your garment and topstitched detailing gives your skirt a professional looking finish. The Strip Quilt Skirt is a classic skirt pattern that has an old-fashioned sweetness that has been lost from much of our modern clothing.

This pattern is for ladies’ sizing XS to 4XL, and is also available in girls’ sizes 1 year to 12 years.

Designed for woven cotton.

There was a lot of excess fabric at the end. Easily adjust this by not cutting your strips the full width of the fabric.

The 1.5″ elastic was a little too big for the waistband fabric strip. This can be adjusted easily by using 1″ elastic instead.

Stretching the elastic across the length of the waistband fabric while sewing was challenging. My suggestion is to stretch and pin prior to stitching. That way you would only have to stretch while sewing smaller sections.
